Parish life — May 2026
Let us pray that everyone — from large producers to small consumers — be committed to avoiding wasting food, and that everyone has access to quality food.
As a parish community, it is important that we all remain attentive to one another’s safety and wellbeing. In the event of an emergency, quick and responsible action can make a real difference. This responsibility belongs to all of us, not only to the priest at the altar.
You may have noticed the nylon ventilation cables installed around the church. These are essential for the proper ventilation of the building, as there is no other ventilation system in place. Please ensure that they are never removed, blocked, or tampered with.
We also ask everyone to be especially mindful during services. For example, if someone enters the sacristy and does not return within a reasonable time, or if the main power supply needs attention, or if the sound system or light do not function properly, it is important that someone from the assembly checks the situation. It is far easier for a parishioner to step out briefly than for the priest to leave the altar during Mass. Your awareness and care are therefore vital.
In the coming months, we hope to organise basic emergency‑response training for a small group of parish volunteers, ideally in collaboration with the local fire service. This will help us be better prepared should an emergency ever arise.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep our parish a safe and caring place for all.
Congratulations to our ten candidates received into full communion during Holy Week. Following their Baptism and Confirmation, they are deepening their faith through two stages of Mystagogia:
Tier 1: Weekly meetings with sponsors following a guided formation programme.
Tier 2: Fortnightly group sessions led by the RCIA team using the Sycamore programme and digital resources.
17 May is World Communications Day. There will be a second collection at all Masses to support the Catholic Communications Network.
Please note that there will be no Mass on Tuesday 26 May 2026.
Bishop Peter will lead the 10:00 a.m., mass and at 12:30 pm, he will lead a special visit to say goodbye to the old school building. Everyone is welcome to walk through the halls and view the photographs before the move to the new site.
The card-tap donation machine in the church is currently out of order. For now, offerings can be made by direct bank transfer or by the usual cash envelopes.
Our parish community extends its sincere gratitude to Iriele Kingsley, one of our dedicated members of the Parish Advisory Committee, for his generous and committed service. His insight, support, and steady presence have been a real blessing to the life of our parish.
Iriele Kingsley has now stepped down from the Parish Council due to work commitments, and we fully understand the demands he faces. We remain deeply grateful for his willingness to continue offering practical help whenever possible.
Thank you, Iriele, for your faithful service and ongoing support. Please be assured of our prayers for you and your family.
As we look ahead, the parish will be replacing and expanding the Parish Advisory Committee to reflect the growing needs and diverse profile of our community
Young people of the parish are invited to join the Altar Servers Ministry. Boys and girls are welcome — full training and guidance will be provided.
To join, please speak to Fr. Savi after Mass or contact the Parish Office.

The church has a voluntary choir which sings at the 10:00 Sunday Mass each week, as well as enriching the liturgy on days of obligation and major celebrations throughout the liturgical year.
The choir sings hymns, congregational mass settings, and occasional anthems. All are welcome to join.
